Building 2 Nations with us – this is how the Bangladesh Bhavan became what it is

For centuries now, Bengal has been the cultural hub of India. Some of the biggest thought leaders, freedom fighters, authors and poets have all come out of Bengal. It is rightly said that every alley of Bengal has an artist waiting to bloom, and it is no different for a part of us that is no longer with it. Bangladesh. When Rabindranath Tagore wrote “Aamar Shonar Bangla”, he wrote it for Bengal. He was talking about everything that we are talking about. Celebrating everything we celebrate!

So imagine our excitement and pride when we were awarded the project for providing solution for roofing to build the Bangladesh Bhavan! Pegged as an important establishment for the cultural ties between the 2 countries with a lot of national relevance on both ends, Bangladesh Bhavan was our chance to build the nation in our own little ways. We went back to the drawing board, tried understanding the objective of the Bhavan a little deeper, had a lot of discussions w.r.t. the kind of events and congregations that will be held and how is it that we can make the experience better!

The geographical location of the Bhavan is at a place that has extremes of everything – heat, monsoons and winters. Representing the culture of 2 nations, it obviously needed to look classy and sophisticated – without taking away the indigenous and artistic feel. We have seen many a stadium and auditorium in the past which are built really well, but can’t stand the test of time. It got us to believe that we needed to provide something that was not only long lasting but also maintenance free. The answer was in front of us. The CCS Engineering team got together and started planning everything with Standing Seam VM Zinc as the core product to be applied. Why? These are the features that helped us make a decision:

On top of all this, it is made of natural green material. A pure win-win if you ask us. We came together, built it in the best way possible and here we are. The Bhavan today stands tall and mighty, strong and insulated, beautiful and environmentally friendly. It was indeed a proud moment for us having Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Chief Minister (West Bengal)Smt. Mamata Banerjee inaugurate the Bhavan and being in awe of the masterpiece that there is. A proud moment for Bengal, India, Bangladesh and CCS Group.
